Hello! I am Mateen. I am a creative professional based in the Netherlands, with a passion for transforming ideas into meaningful visual and educational experiences. With years of experience in book publishing and graphic designing — these being my core competencies — I try to bring ideas, stories, concepts and knowledge to life through design and narrative.

My experience bridges the worlds of publishing and education — from developing visually compelling books and digital publications to designing engaging learning materials and online courses. I have collaborated with authors, educators, institutions, and brands to craft content that not only informs but also inspires. Apart from these fields, I’ve also worked on projects involving website design, social media, and e-commerce content, mainly focusing on the design and development side.

I have developed books and training courses in various languages, including English, French, Dutch, German, Swedish, Danish, Spanish, and Arabic. I have worked with a diverse range of local and international clients — web developers, educational and cultural heritage institutions, bookshops, individuals, retailers, publishers, and non-profit organizations, to name a few.

These collaborations have given me the opportunity to participate in book and trade fairs across the world, including the Frankfurt Book Fair (Germany), the London Book Fair (UK), the Istanbul Book Fair (Türkiye), and the Canton Trade Fair (China), among others.

I believe creativity works best when it has purpose — whether that means designing a book that captures a reader’s imagination, building a course that simplifies complex ideas, or creating digital media that connects across cultures. Every project is an opportunity to blend clarity, aesthetics, and innovation.

I am currently working as a freelance designer. Based on my experience and expertise, I am open to projects spanning the fields of publishing, social media and e-commerce content creation, graphic design, instructional design, product design, and website design.
